Remarkable Group has further bolstered the Match My Money appeal with a cash injection of £1,000.
The Match My Money appeal, a joint initiative of the Murray Parish Trust, the Barker-Mill Foundation (BMF) and the Southern Daily Echo, aims to raise £40,000 to help towards building a state of the art children’s emergency and trauma department at University Hospital Southampton, which will serve the South of England.
Money raised through the appeal will be doubled by the Barker-Mill Foundation, and that money will be doubled again by central government meaning that £40,000 will become £160,000.
Stephen Pomeroy, Remarkable Group CEO said: “We’re thrilled to be supporting such a worthy cause. The building of a state of the art children’s emergency and trauma department is a much needed add on to University Hospital Southampton. It will be of benefit to so many children, not just local to Southampton but across the South of England.
“We’ve been watching the campaign closely and it’s great to see so many local businesses and organisations donating and supporting the Murray Parish Trust. We’re very proud to be one of them.”
The generous £1,000 donation from Remarkable Group, will be doubled by the Barker-Mill Foundation then doubled again by the Government, bringing the total to £4,000.
Founded in 2004, Remarkable Group has offices in Winchester, London, Cardiff, Leeds, Norwich, Bristol and Manchester and employs 90 members of staff.
The company’s Engagement and Content divisions support clients offering a full suite of services including creative strategy, public relations, stakeholder engagement, digital marketing, film and video and social media.
Tim Jobling, Trustee at BMF said: “A huge thank you to Remarkable Group for their donation, we are definitely seeing the fundraising total grow. It is excellent to see how such a strong business community pulls together at such key times in order to benefit families across the south.
“We are so impressed with the support already received from businesses across the region so far. We urge those that are yet to donate to dig deep as with our match funding coupled with the Government’s, there is no better way to raise funds for such a worthwhile cause.”
The new children’s emergency and trauma department at Southampton hospital will treat 30,000 children from nine counties across the south when it opens in 2018.
With the shell of the building already built, the new facility will be spread across 1,391m² offering an improved layout and space for assessment and treatment including a dedicated reception, triage and waiting room, children’s emergency X-ray, procedural sedation room, acute assessment unit, observed treatment area and short stay unit.
The Murray Parish Trust, Barker-Mill Foundation and the Southern Daily Echo are calling out for further donations to ensure the target is hit. Those who fundraise or donate will be featured in the Southern Daily Echo.
