Remarkable Group, teamed up with friends from McCarthy and Stone, the UK's leading retirement builder and one of Remarkable's longest standing clients, to raise £250 for McCarthy and Stone's chosen charity, the Royal Voluntary Service.

The sun was shining on the Remarkable Winchester HQ on Wednesday 7th June, with the Remarkable Content and Remarkable Engagement team bringing an impressive array of bakes, cakes and pastries to the table – filling the void of the Great British Bake Off this year with the Great Remarkable Bake Off, which proved just as fruitful – and competitive!

Through generous donations made by both the Remarkable team and the McCarthy and Stone team, a combined total of £250 will be donated to the Royal Voluntary Service, in order to help the charity to continue the amazing work it does every day to help older people to stay active, independent and able to contribute to society. The work of the staff and volunteers of the Royal Voluntary Service helps the older generation to maintain their independence and livelihood whatever their personal circumstances may be – and as such, the Remarkable team was thrilled to host the Great Remarkable Bake Off for such a worthy cause.

Stephen Pomeroy, Remarkable Group CEO said: “We’re thrilled to have been able to host the Great Remarkable Bake Off with our friends at McCarthy and Stone, raising money for such a worthwhile cause. The efforts of the Remarkable team and some of the impressive bakes we have seen today have been just the icing on the cake of what has been a hugely successful and enjoyable event.

“We were pleased to work with McCarthy and Stone and raise money for their chosen charity. We would like to thank the team for coming along and for taking on the difficult role of judging the winner in each category. We hope that over our continued work with McCarthy and Stone in the future we can collaborate on many more activities such as this.”

Paul Teverson, Director of Communications at McCarthy and Stone, commented: "We were thrilled to work with the Remarkable team to raise money for our chosen charity, the Royal Voluntary Service. The Great Remarkable Bake Off was a fun day for everyone involved and we would like to extend our thanks to the Remarkable team for helping us to get closer to our final fundraising target."
