This month, in association with YouGov, we launched our report following a poll of 1,401 Councillors across Great Britain asking their opinions on social media, and how they see the social landscape developing in relation to the planning consultation process.
75% of the councillors we polled said social media is an ‘important’ or ‘very important’ engagement tool.
According to the new Consultation Principles set out by the Cabinet Office, digital tools should be considered as part of the ongoing consultation process.
Now, we want to know what you think. That’s why we will be co-hosting a breakfast seminar along with The Consultation Institute on the 11th October at The Zetter Townhouse, 49-50 St John’s Square, London EC1V 4JJ.
During the seminar we will be outlining the main report findings and presenting best practice with regards to the use of social media and digital engagement in the consultation process.
We will then be holding a Q&A where you can let us know your thoughts on using social media as part of the consultation process, as well as find out more about how social and digital media can be used effectively during the pre-planning application stage.
The event will be open from 8:30am for an 8:50 start and will run until 10am.
