The three will be based in Remarkable’s London office, but will be sharing their expertise with the company’s network of bases in Manchester, Bristol and Cardiff, as well as its HQ in Winchester.

Robbie MacDuff joins as Director and brings more than 26 years’ experience as a highly respected lobbyist having worked in London, Edinburgh and Brussels.

He is a former Public Affairs News Consultant of the Year and in the last Total Politics poll was ranked in the top 10 of UK commercial consultants. He is a former Chair of the Association of Professional Political Consultants and remains a member of the management committee.

Robbie’s background includes working with companies such as British Gas, Thames Water, Kingfisher plc, Prudential, Great North Eastern Railway, Mobil, PwC, and Unison.

Robbie said:

“I am delighted to be joining the Remarkable team. With a highly ambitious and dedicated team vastly experienced in and knowledgeable of their sectors I am looking forward to developing the public affairs service further, not as a standalone offering but a fully integrated part of a client’s communications strategy.”

James Bird has been appointed Associate Director and will lead the team in the London office. With a keen focus on property, energy and infrastructure, James has delivered successful campaigns for a variety of clients including The Crown Estate, Bovis Homes, Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership and CEG.

James ran for parliament in the 2015 General Election, with a campaign that increased his party’s vote by 13 per cent and raised it from fourth to second place. Previously a freelance broadcast journalist, James has served as a Birmingham city councillor and was Shadow Cabinet member for Education and Children’s Services.

Alex Gray joins Remarkable as Account Manager. A former Royal Marine Reservist, Alex is a district and town councillor in his home town of Hart, Hampshire. His wide experience includes analysis of housing and energy legislation for clients such as The Crown Estate, Bovis and Redrow Homes.

Robbie MacDuff and James Bird will report directly in to Stephen Pomeroy, Remarkable Group CEO, who said:

“I couldn’t be happier with the calibre of new people we’ve brought to the company – they each have highly prized experience, vast expertise and a track record of success.

“Robbie is a highly respected figure in the world of public affairs and will be bringing that keen understanding of politics and policy to develop our offering. Public affairs is a key part of any brand’s communications strategy, and with Robbie we can offer excellence across the board.”
