We are delighted to announce the launch of our new strategic office in Cardiff to meet ongoing demand for our services across Wales.

The launch of the new regional office allows us to maintain our position at the forefront of best practice public consultation and engagement in preparation for new planning legislation due out this year in the form of the Planning (Wales) Bill.

We have been serving an expanding portfolio of clients in Wales for a number of years and the new premises gives Remarkable a physical presence in the country.

The expansion is good news for our current and prospective clients in the area who can tap into the Engagement team’s wealth of industry know-how, drawn from years of operating across the country.

It also provides us with a firm foothold to continue extending our national reach and building on the success of our London, North and South West offices.

While the new office has a particular focus on public consultation and regional and government relations, it is our established reputation for delivering a wide variety of successful communications projects that sees us working with some of the biggest organisations in the UK.

Leading the Wales team is Associate Director Laura Wyatt, with ten years’ experience in the industry.  She said:

“This is an exciting step for us and we are delighted to be able to strengthen our Welsh offering for our clients. We have been delivering successful consultation and political engagement strategies throughout the UK for many years and are focussing on Wales as a new growth area, given our extensive experience in the country.

“Whilst we have been working in Wales for many years, the introduction of new legislation and a new planning environment means we wanted to right at the heart of this change. The launch of our Wales office allows us to provide our clients with the reassurance of a permanent base in Wales, bringing us closer to the decision making and ensuring that we continue to provide the highest quality service for our clients.”

Newport-based Senior Account Manager William Morgan is driving the expansion into Wales through his understanding of the Welsh planning environment and ability to deliver effective campaigns. He has made a name for himself delivering high profile consultation programmes and public affairs campaigns for the likes of Tata Steel, Aldi, EDF Energy, Barratt Homes, Vattenfall and Taylor Wimpey.

He said:

“It is a time of upheaval within the Welsh planning system; with policy changes and the imminent arrival of Planning (Wales) Bill, there is much uncertainty in the sector about what this means for the country and how it will affect the delivery of the new infrastructure and development that needs to happen if Wales is to continue its economic recovery.

“With the emphasis now on engaging the local community at the earliest opportunity and keeping them involved throughout the development process, we can provide our clients with that extra degree of certainty, through devising and implementing strategies to engage, listen to and, where possible, bring on-side local communities and decision makers where local development needs to happen.”

Further information on the changing policy requirements due as a result of the new Welsh Planning Bill will be kept regularly updated on Remarkable’s Engagement team website, www.remarkable-engagement.co.uk.
