Remarkable Group hunts fresh silverware from lion conservation charity campaign

A conservation campaign fronted by ‘Game of Thrones’ star Jerome Flynn has put award-winning communications agency Remarkable Group in the running for yet more silverware.

The national company has been shortlisted in the South of England and Channel Islands region of the CIPR Pride Awards for Best Not-for-Profit Campaign for the Global White Lions Protection Trust (WLT).

To coincide with worldwide action on March 15th for the Global March for Lions, Remarkable enlisted the support of Jerome Flynn, also of ‘Ripper Street’ fame, to front its promotion of WLT’s particular efforts to save the rare white lions of South Africa.

The campaign led to Jerome appearing on ITV’s ‘Daybreak’ show, writing a blog for The Guardian, and helped recruit hundreds of people to the protest held in London where Jerome was a keynote speaker.

Remarkable is also up for the Best Technology Campaign for the Can You Find It? operation which it masterminded after being brought in by recruitment specialists TMPW for a GCHQ recruitment push involving an online treasure hunt to attract mathematical, code-breaking and ethical hacking experts.

Over the campaign’s six weeks, the recruitment website was viewed 371,269 times. It was ultimately mentioned in 122 pieces of coverage across outlets with a combined circulation of 111.8 million, including BBC Newsnight.

The GCHQ campaign also won Remarkable the Digital and Social Strategy prize earlier this year in the South West and Wales region of the PRCA Dare Awards.

Remarkable Group’s double-nomination follows the launch on July 23rd of its brand new division, Remarkable Content. The fresh offering was created from the merger of the former PR and digital divisions.

Remarkable Group chief executive, Stephen Pomeroy said:

“The launch of Remarkable Content was a great success and a special moment for everyone at the company, so it is great news to find out we’ve now been shortlisted for more awards.

“We’ve had some very encouraging feedback about the new division from current clients and potential new business. Being shortlisted for these awards shows how our all-round offering is being recognised for getting results.”

The winners of the South of England and Channel Islands PRide Awards will be announced at a black tie dinner on Friday 21st November at the Bristol Marriott Hotel City Centre.
